Course Outline

This qualification reflects the role of individuals who service, diagnose and repair electrical systems and components in vehicles in the automotive electrical service and repair industry.
This course is designed for international students who are not involved in a traditional traineeship and will be involved in both theory and practical training in a full-time capacity to gain the qualification.
Class size: The class size could differ depending on the placements available during the term intake. It could vary in number up to a maximum of 25 per class.

Duration	The program delivery will be scheduled over approximately 70 weeks including 13 week’s break. 57 weeks of study @ 20 hrs each week

Entry Requirements

International Students
The entry requirements for international students:
• Must be 18 years old or over
• Completed year 11 or equivalent
• A minimum score of 5.5 – IELTS, 46 – TOEFL, 42 – PTE, 47 CAE score or equivalent

Domestic students
• Applicants are required to attend a Pre- Training Interview as part of the enrolment process
• Training and assessments are conducted in English.
• Applicants must possess sound written and spoken English skills.
• Applicants are required to complete a Language, literacy and numeracy test paper as part of a selection interview.

Pathways into the qualification
Credit will be granted towards this qualification to those who have completed AUR21116 Certificate II in Automotive Sales in this Training Package or other relevant qualifications.

Pathways from the qualification
Further training pathways from this qualification include AUR40116 Certificate IV in Automotive Management or other relevant qualifications.

Employment or occupational pathway
The Certificate III in Automotive Sales prepares new employees or recognises and develops existing workers who service, diagnose and repair vehicle electrical and electronic systems and components.

Assessment Methods

Assessment will be either a Recognition of Prior Learning pathway or a Training and Assessment pathway.

Participants are advised of the assessment requirements at the start of each training session for a Training and Assessment pathway.

Students not achieving competency in any assessment will be required to undertake another assessment under the terms and conditions of MITT’s reassessment policy.

Recognition Of Prior Learning (RPL) / Credit Transfer

You can apply for recognition of prior learning, academic credit and work experience towards this qualification. During the course of your life, you will develop a wide range of skills and knowledge. Through work, volunteer roles, family commitments and various tasks undertaken in everyday life, you are building up a bank of knowledge. The evidence of these skills and knowledge accumulated can be used to help you gain a qualification. Example: Mark has been working as a motor mechanic in a workshop for 5 years, he never did get around to completing his qualification, his employer asks him to complete his Certificate III in Automotive, but he wasnʼt keen to study. In this case scenario, MITT can help Mark through the process and he could complete his qualification in less than a year.
